First South Town Fire Fest

ZANESVILLE, OH- The first ever South Town Fire Fest took place at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds today.
The event gave the community the opportunity to meet those who help serve their area in a fun way.
“This is our first time having a festival and so far, it’s going great, a lot of good food, music is playing, lot of food trucks, different vendors, people just steady coming in and out,” said Russell Taylor, South Zanesville Fire Chief.
The idea for the Fire Fest came from Combat to Kayaks and Pine Creek Valley Farms wanting to help raise money with the fire department.
“It lets the community meet their first responders and meet people, and it gives it a family safe atmosphere, and people just enjoying the outside and we couldn’t have asked for a better day,” said Taylor.
The South Zanesville Fire Department plans to make this an annual event. For more information visit southzanesvillefd.org.
