Women of Achievement Nominations due soon

It’s that time of year again to nominate outstanding women of Muskingum County.

The annual women of achievement event isn’t until April 15, but nomination forms must be turned in by Sunday. This year’s event chair, Pamela Jira said it’s a great way to showcase the women of the county.

“Nobody does this kind of work for the recognition, but it does give us the opportunity once a year to really say thank you and let those women who have done some very outstanding things and had a positive impact on a number of people’s lives to know they are recognized, their work is being noticed and admired by their peers,” Jira said.

There will be awards in seven different categories. Those categories include a business, education, professions, health care, special recognition, young adult and a bright futures category. Jira said the awards are for all aspects of life and not just achievements in the workplace.

“They’re looking for achievement professionally and as community service as well, so there’s quite a breadth of opportunity for women who have done some outstanding things in our community to be recognized,” Jira said.
