Fyda Freightliner Celebrates 70 Years

Muskingum County- A family owned company with a facility in Zanesville is celebrating seven decades of service.

Commercial truck dealer Fyda Freightliner focuses on selling and servicing Class-A over the road heavy duty trucks, to the pick-up and delivery truck and down to smaller vans. President, Tim Fyda works alongside his three sons and one nephew in a company built by his father and grown by his brother, Bob.

“I think it does make it special for customers in that they know that the family will be here to service their needs and the same thing for the employees with all the consolidation going on that I mentioned a lot of it is through public company’s or private equity groups and it changes things for sure,” said Tim Fyda president of Fyda Freightliner.

The location in Muskingum County is one of eight locations in three states. Over 600 people are employed by Fyda and the company believes more growth is in the future.

“I like where the company is positioned right now. I see growth in the future both organically within our own locations and likely with some acquisitions down the road,” said Fyda. “We’ve had acquisitions over the years and that’s how we’ve grown from one to eight locations and I see more acquisitions in the future. This industry like many industry’s is consolidating and thankfully we’re the consolidator.”

Fyda said they’ll continue to experience changes in the industry that make trucks safer and cleaner as well as the movement towards autonomous vehicles.
