Last Minute Campaigning

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Campaigning is a time honored, American tradition, where candidates mingle with the public to gain their support.

A last minute campaign stop took place today at Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl, where Republican candidates Bernie Moreno and Troy Balderson pitched their purpose to the patrons.

“Both of us came from the retail automotive business,” Moreno said. “Sherrod Brown calls us used car salesmen. I’ll take a used car salesman any day over a career politician. Here’s what I know, Muskingum County, people here don’t want to be told they have to drive an electric car. They don’t want to be told that we’re going to shut down our coal mines and natural gas facilities. In fact, we’re going to do the exact opposite. Look, it’s time for a change in D.C. You saw what Congressman Balderson has already done for this district, we’re going to carry that around the country, we’re going to get great things done and as President Trump said so well, we’re going to make America great again.”

Former University of Cincinnati Football Coach turned Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville was traveling the campaign trail, alongside Moreno and Balderson, to stump for their cause and sample some of Tom’s handmade ice cream along the way.

“I sit on the Energy and Commerce Committee,” Balderson said. “And as Bernie said, that is something that is very important to both he and me. And we’ve been on board with that. So that will be our number one priority, is energy and bringing back our energy independence with what we have. That will be some of the legislation that we’ll bring forward in the next congress. And we’re going to get it passed. Everything that we pass out of the house in a republican controlled legislature stalls in the senate. So with Bernie Moreno there we’re going to get across the finish line and get it on President Trump’s Desk.”

Bernie Moreno is challenging Sherrod Brown for Ohio’s U.S. Senate seat. And incumbent Troy Balderson is being challenged by Jerrad Christian for Ohio’s 12th District Congressional seat.
