ZPD Phone Service Restored

The Zanesville Police Department says business and 911 lines are back up and running.

The department lost all phone service after an accident that occurred around 11:00 a.m. Thursday. EMA Director Bo Keck said a Columbia Gas Company crew was doing some work and accidentally severed all phone lines to the Zanesville Police Department, including 911.

Emergency calls were redirected through the sheriff’s office while AT&T worked to resolve the issue. Chief Kenneth Miller said the lines were restored Thursday night around 9:00 p.m.
