Animal Shelter Society Honors Veterans
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Animal Shelter Society is shining a light on the men and women who fought for our country.
It started on Saturday, with Shelter employees marching in the annual Veterans Day Parade.
The Animal Shelter Society is recognizing those honored by the Muskingum County Joint Veterans Council. They announced that they will be presenting certificates to the 4 newest members of the Hall of Fame.
“We’re are also going to make sure certificates of appreciation are given out to Mr. Kyle Brookover, Mr. Ronald Brookover, Mr. Jack Drake, and of course, Dr. David Schroder. Those four gentlemen were named in the Hall of Fame and we’re going to recognize them,” Gibson said. “They know the importance of what they’ve done and some of the sacrifices that they’ve had to deal with, that we are very thankful [for].”
Gibson said she wants to continue the appreciation for veterans, so for the remainder of November all felines will be 50% off. She said this discount isn’t just for veterans, it’s for the whole community.
Gibson also said the Inaugural “Rockin’ for Paws and Claws” Concert at Kick-N-Ax was a sold-out success.
“Everybody seemed to enjoy it,” Gibson said. “Big Bad Stache was wonderful, they had the place rocking and we’re just very thankful for everybody who came out for us. It’s what it’s all about, especially when you’re running a 100% nonprofit. We had other donations, it was the biggest 50/50 we’ve ever had!”
