Coshocton Co. Sheriff’s Office Investigates Accident
The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office said speed and alcohol are likely factors of an early Sunday morning accident.
The Sheriff’s Office said just after midnight they received a 911 call reporting a one vehicle accident near 46160 County Road 55 in Jackson Township.
The vehicle was driven by 23-year-old Cody Mellor, of Warsaw, was westbound on CR55 when he lost control going off the right side of the roadway.
The vehicle struck two trees and came to rest on the driver’s side pining Mellor in the vehicle. He had to extricated by mechanical means.
Authorities said Mellor was conscious and alert at the scene and transported by Coshocton County EMS to Coshocton Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released. The other occupants in the vehicle were also treated and released at the scene. 18-year-old Thore Reed and 18-year-old Dillian Shepler. A third passenger’s name isn’t being released because they’re a juvenile.
