Celebrating 107 Years
ZANESVILLE, OH – This Thanksgiving, while many of us reflect on what we’re grateful for, one Muskingum County woman has an extra special reason to celebrate.
At 107 years old, Vivian McCall is marking her milestone birthday as the county’s oldest living resident. McCall is excited for new memories this holiday season as she celebrates with her community.
“I am so thankful and so blessed to have lived this long and have had a lovely home life and a loving husband. It means so much to me to have so many friends and people that care about me and I really appreciate that. It’s a wonderful thing. I am so thankful for everything I’ve had, and I owe it to the gift of God.”
Many wonder how they too can live a long life, McCall said her key advice is moderation.
“You can’t abuse your body,” McCall explained. “I tried to live regularly and keep a regular mealtime. Of course, there were times where circumstances prevented that, but then it worked out and then we got back into our schedules again. So, it’s about the way you live. I’ve never drank, I’ve never smoked and so I feel like that has a lot to do with why I am here.”
McCall’s positive outlook and commitment to healthy living is definitely something to be admired this holiday season. Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Birthday to you Vivian.
