Cornell Named Artist of the Month at the ZAAP Gallery

ZANESVILLE, OH – Faith Cornell has been named the Artist of the Month at the ZAAP Gallery.

Cornell said her love of art began when she was a kid and she would work on pieces with her father.

She said she’s found her passion working with watercolors and inks to give her works a flowy look.

Cornell also talked about some of the art she will have on display for the First Friday Artwalk

“The pieces I have on display this time are primarily florals, there are some religious pieces,” Cornell said. “I did have an opportunity to paint Howard Chandler Christy’s home and so that’s featured here as well.”

Cornell said all her works for this show were inspired by many different things in her life. One piece in particular stands out because Cornell said she created it right before we saw our first frost of the winter.

“This particular piece is actually like a small vignette that I saw as I was exiting one day,” Cornell explained. “Paul Emory’s Studio is in the back and he has planted some very beautiful flowers and it was the last bit of flowers before the winter and there were some butterflies there, the sun was hitting it, and it just really inspired me to paint it.”

Cornell’s works will be on display at the ZAAP Gallery, located at 625 Main St., from 5 to 8PM for the First Friday Artwalk and will stay on display until the end of December.
