A Small Towne Christmas event in Somerset
SOMERSET, OH- Holiday cheer filled the air in Somerset as they celebrated their 15th Annual A Small Towne Christmas event.
Saturday’s festivities included live musical performances, a baked goods contest, ornament decorating, a Christmas Pageant, craft vendors and much more!
“It all started years ago, more than 15 years ago for the Somerset Small Towne Christmas, I used to own a restaurant and the kids would come and we would play in the restaurant while the parents were eating, and I would give them icing and they’d make cookies, Christmas has always been a fun time for me and my husband, Santa, so being here for the last 15 years for the event has just been an honor for me,” said Mrs. Claus, (Mechelle Siemer).
They are in need of volunteers to help keep this fun Christmas time event running for many more years to come. If you are interested in getting involved, please visit the Somerset Small Towne Christmas Facebook page.
“Our proceeds go to children in the area, we reach out to the local schools, we have Northern Local schools, we have Glenford Elementary, Somerset Elementary and Holy Trinity Elementary, we actually get donations from all over Perry County and they help with everything, there is also other towns that do small town Christmas, so we try to support them as well,” said Mrs. Claus, (Mechelle Siemer).
If you didn’t get a chance to be a part of this year’s festivities, be sure to mark your calendars for the first Saturday in December 2025 for the 16th A Small Towne Christmas event at the Somerset town square.
