Fieldhouse Hosts NFL Play 60 Flag Football Program
The Fieldhouse hosted the NFL Play 60 Flag Football Program Tuesday evening.
The event was sponsored by the Fieldhouse Foundation, the Pepsi Cola Company and the NFL. The cost to attend the event was $95, which included the child’s uniform, NFL gear, flags and their own football. The Pepsi Cola Company and Fieldhouse Foundation sponsored those who were unable to financially afford the program. Mic Amicone, Owner of the Fieldhouse says that they got very positive responses.
“As soon as some of these kids saw the Bengals jerseys, it was a little bit oooo and ah, but when they saw the numbers here, I mean having a hundred kids out here all playing football at one time….I heard a couple kids say ‘Dad, this is really cool’ and so what else can you say? When the kids say its cool, its gotta be cool.”
Amicone says the event gave children the opportunity to learn about the technical aspects of the game while learning 5 values. Integrity, honesty, humility, courage and perseverance. We spoke to Coach Chris Zemba who told us more about his experience.
“Footballs just a platform to be able to teach kids life lessons. So thats why I got involved with this and Mic does such a great job at the Fieldhouse in striving for that. We’ve got several coaches out here that are willing to give their time to come out and be part of that program.”
Amicone says they were blessed to have each of the kids attend the special event.
