Forever Dads, Forever Fit, Forever Fun

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Physical fitness is something that is usually ignored but often benefits in ways unseen.

Forever Dads is a local organization that encourages fathers to play a stronger role in their children’s lives. Forever Dads Executive Director and CEO Ryan Sheppard announced an upcoming event that can create healthier bonds between fathers and their children.

“Forever Dads was a recipient of a grant from The Muskingum County Community Foundation, part of which is to be able to expand our services in the communities that we serve,” Sheppard said. “And with that, we are planning to host a wellness event this Saturday, December 21, in Duncan Falls. We’re partnering with Hometown Fitness and a few other businesses in the Duncan Falls area to be able to provide an opportunity for fathers and children.”

The event will feature licensed instructors demonstrating fitness routines that fathers and children can exercise together. Forever Dads Community Outreach Coordinator Danny Harper explains the importance of fathers sharing time and setting a positive example.

“The importance of the wellness and the importance of the healthy part of the thing is; raising a kid is not easy,” Harper said. “No, it’s stressful sometimes I know but when we’re able to come together and do something fun, you know that also brings down our stress levels and all these different things as a father. You know, so it’s great to come together and do some fun things. And that’s kind of what this event’s about. We’ll do some exercises and different things to learn how to do things healthy as a father and a kid. So.”

The ‘Take It Up A Notch’ event will take place from 1-to-4 at The Barracks, on Salt Creek Drive, behind the Cornerstone Church in Duncan Falls.
