Ernest Boggs

Ernest “Ernie” Boggs Sr., of Zanesville passed at 1:09 AM Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Genesis Hospital.
He was born on Monday, May 25, 1931, in McMechen, West Virginia the son of the late Oakey Boggs and Lola Lucy Friend Boggs.
Ernie was an U.S. Army Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He had two sons and also three grandsons, that followed in his footsteps, also serving in the armed forces. He worked for Nichols Bakery as a Breadman and Burnham Boiler Foundry as an Electrician. His favorite things to do were spend time with his family, follow Cathy to hear her sing, and he loved going to church, worshiping God. He was a member of Alpha Bible Church and the American Legion Post 389 for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Nancy Carroll Suarez Boggs; six children, William “Bill” (Roxanne Huck) Boggs, Ernest (Sharon) Boggs Jr., Denise (Danny) Boggs Farus, David (Betty) Boggs, Cathy (David) Boggs Goss and Daun (Mindi) Boggs; fifteen grandchildren and their spouse; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ernie is preceded in death by his thirteen siblings.
Friends may call 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where a celebration of life will begin at 6:00 PM.
