John McIntire Elementary Spring Festival
Judging by Thursday’s warm temperatures, it’s clear that spring is in the air, and at John McIntire Elementary, they celebrated with a Spring Festival.
Students of all ages attended the first annual Spring Festival where they could purchase tickets to participate in over 20 spring themed activities.
“They will see face painting, balloon animals, there is a dunk tank outside. We have t-shirts sales, there is a bouncy house, we’ve got all kinds of games I think there’s like over 20 different kinds of games to play, we’ve got food. You know, a little bit of everything for everybody,” said Erica VanKirk, PTO President for McIntire Elementary.
The most popular booth by far was the dunk booth. Students jumped at the chance to possibly dunk their Principle, Mr. Kacey Cottrill who was in on the fun. While the games cost a small amount to play, admission to the festival was free.
“Yes it’s free, we do charge 50 cents a ticket and each game some are two tickets, some are one ticket but anyone can just come in and walk around and have fun,” said VanKirk.
All the proceeds raised during Thursday’s Spring Festival will be used to help pay for educational field trips.
