Leona Ford

Leona M. (Spires) Ford, 81, of Roseville, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, at Genesis Healthcare Systems, leaving behind a legacy of love, artistry, and dedication. Born in the heart of Roseville, Ohio, on July 31, 1943, Leona grew up to be a woman of many talents and unwavering spirit. Her journey began as the daughter of the late Roy and Florence (Riley) Spires. Leona’s family was the cornerstone of her existence, and her legacy is carried on through her loving son, Michael (Angie) Harper, who, together with their children, added the laughter of six grandchildren and the wonder of a great-grandchild to Leona’s life. Her sisters, Karen Wiseman and Betty Norton, remain as proof of the unbreakable bond that siblings and memories endure through time. Leona’s life was marked by her skilled hands and artistic soul. She spent years creating intricately woven treasures for the Longaberger Company, a craft that not only showcased her artistic abilities but also provided joy and beauty to those fortunate enough to collect her work. Her tenure with United Technology Company further reflected her strong work ethic and passion to thrive. Beyond her professional pursuits, Leona was an avid artist in more ways than one. She found joy in the keys of her piano and the strokes of her pencil, creating music and drawings that echoed the creativity and passion that resided within her. She was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved husband, Melvin Ford; dear son, Larry “Robbie” Harper Jr and her late siblings Chuck Spires, Leroy “Sonny” Spires, William Spires, Robert Spires, Florence “Peachy” Thorp and Barbara Caton.
