New Lexington, OH- The Perry County Sheriff’s Office said they’ve made an arrest in a stolen property case.

The sheriff’s office said on December 31, Gerald Hedges, of Shawnee was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for felonious assault.

Hedges was arrested after a search of a home at 402 East Walnut Street in Shawnee. Deputies obtained the warrant after information was received that articles of stolen property were present at the address, as well as individuals with active warrants.

After a search of the residence and property, Perry County Sheriff’s Deputies seized several items related to illicit drug use. Information was also received during the search that helped both the Athens County and Hocking County Sheriff’s Offices.

Athens County Sheriff’s deputies were able to recover property that was stolen from Perry County, while the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office case remains under investigation.

Charges are pending as a result of items and information received during the search warrant.
