Professional Day Of Sharing Held At Jame Singer Activity Center

The annual, Professional Day of Sharing took place at the James Singer Activity Center in Zanesville Thursday.

The event has been taking place for about 15 years now and 22 to 23 different agencies turned out to take part. We spoke to Krystal McFarland, President of Council and Community Resources who gave us an overview of things.

“It’s an opportunity for agencies to come and display their information about what they do so that other people from other agencies can network and collaborate to provide services in to our residents of Muskingum County”

McFarland says the whole event was geared soley toward the professionals that work within the agencies. McFarland explained not only is it about networking, but about teamwork within a community.

“I just think it’s important that we’re aware of the resources within the community and that way agencies are not duplicating services, that we’re all providing services with such limited resources these days. It’s nice to know that if someone down the street is doing it and doing it well, why would we duplicate that service? Lets just refer people down there and work together to make sure that everyone gets the services they need in the area.”

An estimated 100 to 150 people attended the Professional Day of Sharing.
