Meth Chemicals Discovered In Crooksville Home

The Perry County Sheriffs Office made progress in the fight against drugs Tuesday.

The drug bust occurred at the address of 315 Pine Street. The call came between 10:30AM and 11:00AM. We spoke to Sargent Joey Carr of the Crooksville Police Department who told us how the meth lab was discovered.

“We got a tip that there was a smell of a chemical coming from the area down here somewhere. We came down and we smelled the chemical, traced it down to the house we thought it was coming from. We spoke with the people in the house, they gave us consent to search the home. We searched and found chemicals that were used to make methamphetamines.”

Carr said the smell resembled that of a starter fluid or ether. Three individuals were at the home at the time. Carr says the actual home owner was not involved with the meth bust, but rather, those who were visiting the owner. One male in his late 40’s to early 50’s was detained. Carr says he had a prior history with drugs and has the possibility of being charged with manufacturing and illegal possession. The home owners were not charged. Crooksville Police and Fire, Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force of Perry County, the Perry County Sheriffs, and Roseville Police and Fire all responded to the scene. WHIZ will bring you updates as we have them.
