UPDATE: Zanesville Man Faces Over 70 Sex Charges
The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says a Zanesville Man is facing over 70 sex charges involving a minor.
34 Â year old Rodney Curtis, who previously worked at the Avondale Youth Center was arrested Friday. Wednesday in Muskingum County Common Pleas court he was arraigned on the charges and plead not guilty. Prosecutor Mike Haddox says the victim is a 15 year old female who lives at the Avondale Youth Center. Haddox told us more about the alleged accusations.
“In regards to the 63 counts of illegal use of a minor in a nudity oriented performance, it alleges that Mr. Curtis either photographed a minor in a state of nudity or created, directed, produced or transferred that type of material. In regards to the 11 counts of sexual battery those allegations are that Mr. Curtis and the juvenile engaged in fellatio, cunnilingus and digital penetration.”
Haddox says the indictment against Curtis states the 63 counts of illegal use of a minor in a nudity oriented material occurred between April 28th and September 24th of 2014 and the 11 counts of sexual battery occurred between April 16th to July 18th 2014. Curtis faces a maximum of 559 years in prison if convicted on all charges. He is being held in the Muskingum County Jail on $1,000,000 bond.
