Three Car Injury Accident At Blue And Adair Avenue

A three car injury accident occurred at the intersection of Blue and Adair Avenue Wednesday evening.

The call came shortly before 7PM. There were minor injuries reported in the wreck. The driver of the Pontiac had a minor head injury from striking the windshield. She was transported Genesis. Patrolman Kyle Brookover of the Zanesville Police Department is unclear whether or not the driver of the Pontiac was wearing a seat belt. The driver of the Mercury and the three passengers were transported for precautionary measures to Genesis as well. The two occupants the the Lincoln were unharmed. Brookover explained to us what happened.

“The first vehicle was a black Lincoln, it was traveling northbound on Blue Avenue and Adair. They stated that a truck in front of her stopped to make a turn into the Duke. They didn’t use their turn signal so she stopped to avoid hitting them. The silver Mercury then stopped to avoid hitting her and then at that time a silver Pontiac struck the Mercury, which then pushed the Mercury into the Lincoln. ”

The at fault vehicle was insured and the drivers of the two other cars involved were unable to show proof. The driver of the Pontiac was cited with assured clear distance ahead. Zanesville Police and Fire, Genesis Community Ambulance and Falls Township responded to the scene. The northbound lane of Blue Avenue was closed until the accident had been cleared.
