Junction City Man Arrested on Drug Charges

A Junction City man has been arrested on drug charges following a sting operation.

On March 23rd the Perry County Sheriff’s Office and the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force arrested 45-year-old James C. Hanning for Illegal Assembly or Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacturing of Methamphetamine. As part of the sting operation, Hanning was followed from Junction City to Buckeye Valley Road where he was stopped by sheriff’s deputies.

The sheriff’s office says Hanning was found to be in possession of all components needed to produce meth and was taken into custody. He’s currently being held at the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail on felony drug charges.

Through further investigation, agents seized a discarded meth lab within the Perry State Forest near State Route 669 that Hanning was found to have left behind after a previous meth cook. The investigation is still ongoing, and Hanning could face additional drug charges.
