Joyce Harmon

Joyce Ann Harmon, 74, of Newark, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Adams Lane Care Center. Joyce was born July 29, 1950 in Newark, daughter of the late Gather A. and Naomi (Allen) Hayes. In addition to her parents, Joyce is also preceded in death by her son, Charles William Nethers, Jr.; and siblings, Richard Hayes, Helen Hayes, Howard Hayes, Virginia Renner, Terri Craig, Charlotte Hayes, and Annette Hayes.

Joyce leaves to mourn her passing, her children, Patty (Brian) Madinger, Buffy (Glenn Ore) Nethers and Jeffrey Harmon; grandchildren, Willie (Tosha) Nethers, Martin (Whitney) Angler, Jr., Megan (George Lee) Robbins, Amanda (Shawn) Penrod, Amber (Chris Shriner) Robbins, Shelby Harmon and Willis Harmon; great-grandchildren, Klaira, Collin, Stella, Kendall, Willow, Noaah, Korah, Grace, Kailyn, Yarrow, Brayden, Branson, Addy and Kevin Angler, Jr.; siblings, Betty Hayes, Jerry (Linda) Hayes, Bonnie (Rocky) Boyd, Kay (Larry) Zimmerman, Deb (Kenny) Robinson and Viola Hayes; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loved ones and friends.

Joyce was a hard working woman. She kept herself busy with work and various tasks. In her free time, Joyce enjoyed watching CSI and her favorite games shows on TV. She was an avid country music fan. Joyce loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Adam’s Lane Care Center’s East Unit, as well as Genesis Hospice nurses Jeremy and Keisha for their excellent care.

Per the family’s wishes, cremation has been chosen and a celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at a later date. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
