Authorities Find Cocaine during Arrest

The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office said they’ve made an arrest in connection to a shooting incident, drugs and firearms.

Authorities said that on Monday, April 20, officers were attempting to locate 32-year-old James Patterson on multiple warrants including trafficking in cocaine and charges in a January 8 incident where the sheriff’s office stopped a vehicle in relation to someone shooting from a car on County Road 271.

When authorities spotted Patterson driving on County Road 402, Monday, they were able to take him into custody without incident.

Deputy Dave Stone said they found several drugs in the vehicle with the help of a K9 officer, including what’s suspected to be over $12,000 in cocaine.

Currently, Patterson’s being charged with having a weapon while under disability and improper handling of firearms.

Additional charges may be considered after a review by the Coshocton County Prosecutor.
