Gordon Brown

Gordon Kenneth “Kenny” Brown, 81, of Dresden, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2025, at his home in Dresden after a brief illness.
Kenny was born on April 16, 1943, in Zanesville, to the late Gerald Kenneth and Essie (Smythe) Brown. As an only child he was devoted to his parents and took care of them both in their later years. Kenny was employed at Coshocton Stainless, now Cleveland Cliffs for 32 years retiring in 1995. He could fix almost anything and loved working with wood. Kenny enjoyed passing his knowledge on to his kids and grandkids, most recently his grandson, Colten who was his helper and his grandson, Nash who wants to know exactly how everything works. A loyal Chevrolet fan, he loved and cared for his black 1996 Chevy truck. Kenny was a 1961 graduate of Jefferson High School where he earned his varsity letter in four sports in one year, including football, basketball, baseball, and track.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patty (Powell) Brown, whom he married on October 17, 1981; his children, Stephanie ( Brian) Hahn, Stephen (Rebekah) Brown, Sarah Brown, and Seth Brown; grandchildren, Melissa (Trent) Nethers, Allison (Cody) Dodrill, Lauren (Derick) Douglas, Hannah Brown, and Jacie, Colten, and Nash Rollison; Kenny was blessed to have four great-grandchildren, Emilia and Leo Nethers and Harley and Lane Dodrill; mother-in-law, Janet Powell; and several very close cousins and good friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cousin, Carolyn Dawson; father-in-law, John Powell and a son-in-law, Rob House.
Family and friends may visit from 4:00pm-7:00pm, Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil and Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street.
A Private Family Graveside will be held at the Dresden Cemetery, Dresden.
