ZAAP to host Auction Fundraiser
The Zanesville Appalachian Arts project is hosting the 2015 ZAAP Auction Fundraiser. The auction will replace the month of May’s featured ‘Artist of the Month’.
The auction will feature many donated pieces from ZAAP artists including a variety of mediums. Director of the ZAAP gallery, John Taylor-Lehman said there will be something for everyone.
“There really is quite a variety of art work,” said Lehman. “There are original paintings, prints, sculpture, fabric art, there are a few gift baskets. There are some ticket packages for the Southeastern Ohio [Symphony] Orchestra, the theater, so there’s a little bit for all interests. ”
There will be 30 items featured in the silent auctions. The live auction will begin at 8:45 p.m. Lehman said with the community’s support at this auction, ZAAP can continue to give local artists a place to showcase their work.
“I hope the community will come out and support this event,” said Lehman. “ZAAP has been around since the mid-1990’s. We’re a very important organization for people who are interested in participating in the arts, having a chance to display their work, maybe for the first time. ”
The auction will feature 42 original pieces from local artists like Carrie Turner, Gary Graham and many more. It will begin May 1 directly following the First Friday Art Walk at 8 p.m.
