Water Main Break Occurs In Crooksville
A water main break occurred in the Village of Crooksville Tuesday afternoon.
The break occurred at 3PM directly in front of Peach’s Place on Main Street. We spoke to Village Worker Levi Dickerson who told us it was caused by an old 10 inch pipe. The water main break created large cracks in the road and has affected 18 to 20 businesses in the strip. A section of Main Street was closed at the time of the break and will not be re-opened until the repairs are completed. Dickerson said the process has been slow because they are trying to avoid disrupting a nearby gas line. Village Workers stated that they are hoping to fix the pipe by midnight Tuesday. Workers said they will not know if the pipe is broken in other locations until the water is turned back on. Dickerson told us boil water advisories will soon be sent out to the Village.
