Skincare Tips for the Winter
NEW CONCORD, OH – Winter weather can be harsh on our skin, but there are simple ways to keep it healthy and hydrated.
While many people rely on soap and water alone, your skin can benefit from a little extra care during the colder months. A good moisturizer is a great place to start.
“My absolute number one tip is to wear a moisturizer,” Genesis Primary Care Physician Anh-Dao Lee said. “The best way to protect our skin is to put something on it. So, I like thicker moisturizers during the winter or even something petroleum based. The stuff you’d want to stay away from is something with fragrance in it that could be irritating to the skin.”
Skincare isn’t just about the products you use; proper layering also plays a crucial role. In cold temperatures, choosing softer fabrics and layering appropriately can prevent discomfort and help protect your skin.
“Making sure too, if we’re going to be out in the cold especially when it’s windy, we’re covering up. So, hats, gloves, scarves covering the face, and limiting our exposure.”
By following these easy tips, you can help protect your skin from the winter chill. With the right care and protection, your skin can stay hydrated, healthy, and comfortable all season long.
