This Week’s Dog of the Week: Meet Pebbles

ZANESVILLE, OH – This week’s Dog of the Week is hunting for her forever home.

Meet Pebbles! She’s a 2-year-old coonhound who’s spayed, dog and kid friendly and ready for her forever family. Doug McQuaid, a Volunteer at the K-9 Adoption Center, said Pebbles also enjoys getting and giving affection to everyone she can.

“She loves to walk out in the snow and she gets quite excited like most dogs do,” McQuaid said. “So that would be something to look forward to.”

McQuaid said the Adoption Center volunteers have been hard at work making Valentine’s Day treat bags for our furry friends. You can stop by the center to pick one up for any special pets in your life, free of charge.

McQuaid also wants to remind pet owners to get their 2025 dog licenses.

“We’re right around the corner from getting dog tags,” McQuaid said. “January 31st, they’re $16, there’s actually 12 locations that can be visited on the Auditor’s website. It’s very important to us that you guys get your tags, it’s the most easy way for us to get the dog returned to you when your dog becomes lost, our dog wardens pick them up, and they can only come here for a short stay to keep them out of harm’s way and it’s the fastest, easiest way for us to get them back to you.”

If you are interested in adopting Pebbles or picking up your 2025 dog license, you can reach out to the K-9 Adoption Center at (740)-453-0273.
