Karen M. Thompson, 82, of Crooksville, passed away Wednesday January 22, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Gahanna, Ohio, on August 6, 1942, to the late Willis and Mildred Kelly. Karen was a talented crafter who poured her creativity into her business, Karen’s Kustom Krafts. Her handcrafted jewelry was not only a testament to her artistic abilities but also a source of joy for those who wore it. Beyond her family and business, Karen had a passion for shopping, often turning a simple outing into an adventure. Her eye for unique finds and her love for adding to her collections brought her much happiness. Her handcrafted jewelry was not only a successful venture but also a way for her to connect with others, sharing stories and moments with each piece she created. Karen’s involvement with the Iliff Church and its women’s group spoke to her commitment to her church community and her faith. She found great fulfillment in serving alongside her fellow members, creating lasting friendships and memories. She is survived by her loving son, Dan (Mary Ann) Thompson and her devoted daughters, Amy (Bill) Russell and Chris (Bob) Reed. Her grandchildren, Rebecca and Jacob Thompson, Clayton and Ryan Russell. Karen also leaves behind her brother, John Kelly, and Her faithful fur companion, Sophie, was a constant source of comfort and companionship. Karen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Terry G. Thompson, who passed away on May 16, 2019. The depth of their love and partnership was evident to all who knew them, and Karen carried Terry’s memory in her heart every day since his passing. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Mildred Kelly, and her siblings, David Kelly and Ann Kelly. Calling hours will be held Friday January 31, 2025 from 4pm -7pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Saturday February 1, 2025 beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Emory Clark officiating. Burial will conclude in Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Roseville.
