Bernard “Bernie” Emmert

Bernard “Bernie” L. Emmert, 85 of Zanesville, died, Friday, January 24, 2025, at his home following a sudden illness. He was born Wednesday, August 2, 1939, in Zanesville, the son of Edward J. Emmert and Adelaide B. (Archer) Emmert.
Bernie was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where he was very active. He was also a member of the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus.
Bernie was employed with Goodwill Industries for many years, served as Shipping and Receiving Clerk with Bering, Inc. for over 17 years, owned his own business, worked with the Columbus Sign Company, Kmart and retired from Walmart.
Bernie is survived by two brothers, Jerold (Judy) Emmert and David Emmert; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bernie was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward Emmert, Thomas Emmert, John Emmert and Larry Emmert.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, where the Rosary will be recited at 4:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Friday, January 31, 2025, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 144 North Fifth Street, Zanesville, with Fr. Stephen Ondrey as celebrant.
