Rozena “Rose” Lavy

ZANESVILLE
Rozena Blanche “Rose” Lavy, 90, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. She was born February 6, 1934, in Zanesville to the late William Clarence and Venelia Blanche Nelson Hina. She went to Lash High School and was employed at Custom Coil, the Muskingum County Home, retired from Starlight School and also worked for a short time at Knights of Columbus. She enjoyed her beautiful flower gardens and was a member of the Anchor Church.
Her husband, Virgil and her started Lavy’s Carpet and family still runs it today. She was a five-generation head of family, thanks to several of her children.
She is survived by her sons: Robert (Brenda) Lavy, Richard Lavy and Steven (Amy) Lavy; her daughters: Karen White, Virginia (Ron) Feick, and Pamela Adkins; a sister Wanda Gallis; son in law Dan Waxler; grandchildren: Brent Lavy, Josh Lavy, Shae Adams, Chuck Lavy, Rusty Lavy, Susan Lavy, Jennifer Stoops, Michele Knight, Jason Knight, Justin White, Travis White, Todd Waxler, Mandy Samson, Nicholas Adkins, Christopher Adkins, Dana Lavy and Brady Lavy; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and a special friend Barb Power, who she knew most of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Lavy; her daughter: Marsha Waxler; brothers: William Hina and Fred Hina; a sister Margaret Hina; and grandchildren: Daniela Waxler, Tammy Lavy, Ashley Rose Myers and Nathan Adkins.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Genesis Hospice, Genesis 3rd floor Respiratory Unit and 4th floor Kidney Dialysis Unit, for their excellent care and for bringing mother and son together.

Calling hours will be from 12 to 2 PM Thursday, February 6, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. The funeral service will follow at 2PM with Pastor Aaron Bounds officiating, assisted by her grandson Brady Lavy. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
