Victoria Michel

Victoria Anne Barnes Michel, age 67, of Zanesville, passed away at 4:10 P.M. Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio following complications from pneumonia.
Vicki was born on Wednesday, April 3, 1957, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio. The first of seven children born to Bernard and Patricia Cooper Barnes.
On June 26, 1976, Vicki married Dennis Michel at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. They made their home together on the Michel Farm in North Zanesville. There they raised five children, one daughter, Rebecca Dennis and four sons, Patrick (Bonnie), Brian (Shanon), Scott (Kari) and Stephen (Jackie).
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Colton, Clayton, Connor, Kylie, Aiden, Parker, and Deacon Michel, Alaina and Kyle Dennis; five step grandchildren, Matti, Kaleb, Harper, Ivan and Peyton; three step great grandchildren, Xanta, Amya and Eli.
In addition to her husband and children, Vicki is survived by her mother, Patricia and six siblings, a brother Jeffrey (Bonnie) Barnes of Findlay, OH; five sisters, Erin (John) O’Brien of Lima, OH, Betsy (Doug) Merry of Nashport, OH, Mary Cronin-Peadon, Jennifer (George) Bates and Diane (Mark Lincicome) Hoffer all of Zanesville, OH.
Brother in laws, Don (Sandy), Paul and Gene (Polly) Michel; sister in laws, Janet (Don) Hawk, Nancy (Galen) Peck and Karen (Jim) Obermiller.
She is also survived by many loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family.
Vicki was a 1975 graduate of Bishop Rosecrans High School. After graduation and marriage, she devoted her time to raising her family. She then went on to feed and nourish many children in the Catholic Schools of Zanesville by being their “Lunch Lady”. They will all fondly remember her for her cookies and “Vicki’s Biscuits”. After retiring, Vicki spent time enjoying her grandchildren and their many sporting events.
Vicki was preceded in death by her father on March 27, 1995; a nephew Joseph Barnes; a niece Jolene Michel and her in-laws, Regis and Leona Michel.
Vicki was a kind, sweet loving soul, who was always there to listen and offer encouragement to all.
Friends may call on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Saturday, February 8, 2025, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Ralko as celebrant. Vicki will be laid to rest in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
