ZAAP’s Artist of the Month Blooms with Talent

Joan Quinn has made art her life, from her first art show win in the third grade to teaching art for 23 years at East Muskingum Schools.

Quinn has traveled through three states and found herself right here in Zanesville as the ZAAP featured artist of the month. She paints floral paintings and said that she’s inspired by the garden that grows just outside her farm home.

“My garden… we grow flowers on the farm and my daughter helps plant them and I plant them and over the years we’ve had different ones,” said Quinn.

Quinn said that after dedicating herself to young artists for so long in the elementary school, she’s taken some of their free spirited ideas with her.

“I love little kids’ work and they’re very colorful which I think rubbed off on me a little bit,” said Quinn.

To see Quinn’s work, you can stop by the art show at ZAAP’s gallery tomorrow evening from five until eight.
