Swope Takes over as Junior Pioneers Head Coach

ZANESVILLE – Coming off the first AAABA championship in franchise history, the Zanesville Junior Pioneers found themselves in a pickle.

Dave Balo vacated the head coaching position to spend more time with his family, leaving the team in search of a replacement. But Muskingum Valley Old Timers President Pat Bollinger selected a familiar face to take over the team next season: assistant coach Brian Swope.

Swope stopped by WHIZ to talk about his new role as skipper of the national champs.
