Going Green is Easy with Help

The Coburn United Methodist Church teamed up with good will today to help the community get a little more green.

Local residents were invited to drop their recyclable items at the church parking lot from nine until noon.  First Pastor at Coburn First United Dennis Baker said they hope the community delivers as much recyclables as they have in past years.

“We’ve had as high as 13,000 pounds of material in previous years so we’ll take as much as we can get,” said Baker. “We’ve already finished loading a truck and we’re waiting truck to come to us. ”

Items accepted include paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, small appliances, computers, and even car batteries. Baker said that the church gets involved because it’s the right thing to do.

“Well go green is about recycling those things that would normally go into landfills and taking care of God’s good earth,” said Baker.

Those who missed the chance to recycle today can always take paper to bins behind Coburn United Methodist Church and other recyclable items to Goodwill on Maple Avenue in Zanesville.
