Pizza Testing Soon

Dancing with the Divas is in just over a month, but before then the dancers are having fundraisers.

WHIZ meteorologist Phil Sakal will be dancing at the event. Although he wouldn’t give hints into his dance, he has released details about his upcoming fundraiser. Although, he said it’s more of a pizza party than a fundraiser. Domino’s, Picnic Pizza, Creno’s Pizza and Four Stars Pizza agreed to donate to the pizza party. On June 26, people will get to taste test all four.

“We’re having a big fundraiser, more kind of a pizza party actually for local area pizza places to kind of have a friendly competition,” Sakal said. “It’s going to raise money for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and hopefully a lot of fun.”

Tickets are $10 for one or $30 for four. Sakal said he chose to have a fundraiser for Crohn’s and Colitis because he’s had Colitis since his early childhood. He hopes the money raised can help to find a cure for the diseases. However, he said if you can’t go to the pizza party there is another event next Wednesday.

“We’re having another fundraiser for a guy named Matt Frampton also has his mother diagnosed with Crohn’s and he’s kind of wanting to help out as well. He’s playing his guitar at Zak’s,” Sakal said. “He’ll be playing throughout the evening for tips, and I’ll probably be joining him as well playing guitar.”

Sakal’s June 26 Pizza Party will be at Zane’s Landing Park from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and you can hear Frampton and Sakal at Zak’s on June 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All the tips from that performance will be given to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
