Genesis Move Date Fast Approaching

Genesis Hospital will be moving patients soon and there are some things that you should know.

Patients will begin moving from Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital to the new Genesis Hospital at 6AM on the 27th of June. The moving will continue till 5PM that same day. Prior to the move, Genesis Hospital will be having a public open house this Saturday from 10AM to 2PM. This will give the community the chance to see the inside of the hospital. Marketing and Media Relations Manager of Genesis, Holly Smith Voltz feels everyone in the community is very excited about the new facility.

“You know it’s really interesting because a lot of the community members that we’ve talked to or have reached out to us, [said] they’ve seen so much changes from the outside” said Smith Voltz, “you know, so I think they really want to get inside and see actually what it looks like inside and this has been a project that we’ve worked with the community [on] with for many years so I think they’re very excited about what it’s going to mean for them.”

Smith Voltz said it will help them to better re-create the care that patients are provided and serve as another valuable tool for the area. Smith Voltz said the fast approaching move date is expected to go very smoothly.

“The patient move is very well organized. They’ve been working on it for months. They actually have hired a firm that specializes in moving hospitals and it will actually happen in one day.”
