Meet this Week’s Loveable Dog of the Week, Izzy!
ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week’s Dog of the Week has a whole lot of love to give.
Meet Izzy! She’s a 5-year-old bully mix who’s spayed, good with kids, and is ready for her new cuddle buddy.
Doug McQuaid, a Volunteer at the K-9 Adoption Center, said this loving pup was abandoned by her previous owners, but she’s not letting that stop her from finding her forever family.
“Very dog selective, was, like I said, abandoned, but you know what, she’s sweet as gold,” McQuaid said. “Loves people, we just feel like she would do great with any home, wherever she goes.”
McQuaid also wants pet owners to keep in mind that we are still experiencing winter weather which means a drop in the temperatures. He said if you have to keep your animals outside, to make sure they have fresh unfrozen water and food. McQuaid also provided some tips to help remove snow and ice safely from your pets.
“The ice and snow need to melt off of them as it can,” McQuaid explained. “Then maybe as it does that you would take like a microfiber towel and just pat the paws and so forth as you’re trying to absorb the water out of there. You never want to abruptly pull the snow or ice off their paws because that’s just like scratching your own skin and can cause sores, especially being on their feet, then it becomes a long period of time and maybe even vet care to getting them healed up.”
