Carolyn Ada Walker, 81, of Zanesville, died on February 20, 2025, at The Morrison House after an extended illness.

She was born in Zanesville on June 13, 1943, to Troy and Helen (Williams) Walker. She worked for 17 years at a Chrysler assembly plant in Detroit. During her life, she resided in Detroit, Newark, and Zanesville.

She is survived by her brother, Troyon (Pam) Walker; her sons, Quinn (Olivia) Johnson of Lompoc, California; Victor Johnson of Dearborn Heights, Michigan; Terrance Johnson of Southfield, Michigan; and her daughter and son-in-law, Carman Johnson and Josephe Stewart, also of Southfield, Michigan; and grandchildren, Sean and Briauna (Bri) Johnson of Lompoc, California; Tierra M. (Erra) Johnson of Columbus; Terrell L. (Scooter) and Alisha D. (Pebbles) Johnson of Southfield; Talecia (Tee) Johnson of Detroit; Greg Clark (Booman) of Redford, Michigan; Lowell (Fatty); Donovan (Donny); and Joshua (Josh) Johnson of Southfield; her great-nephew, Mario Clark of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; her special cousin, Eloise Wilson; and special friends, Diane Merriweather, of Detroit; Fannie and Alvin Marshall of Southfield, Michigan; and Harristean Chandler of Zanesville. She is also survived by her young friend, Natalie Morrison, of Zanesville. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Marlene, who died at eight months old.

Carolyn was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 27, 1981. She previously served as a Regular Pioneer for 11 years. She loved to read and study the Bible and share her Bible knowledge with others. Her favorite scripture was Revelation 21:4, 5, which states, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” (NWT)

A memorial service will be held at the South Zanesville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Friday February 28, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. A graveside ceremony will be held at a later date. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
