Possible Shooter at Muskingum U.

Muskingum County- The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a possible shooter at Muskingum University.

It was called in around 6:30pm. Sheriff Matt Lutz said law enforcement quickly arrived on scene and began clearing rooms across campus as a precaution.

Officials confirmed there was no shooting and that the call stemmed from a staff member overhearing and misunderstanding a conversation related to an earlier domestic dispute on campus, which had already been resolved.

Sheriff Lutz said while the call turned out to be a misunderstanding, officials take situations like this seriously and responded swiftly to ensure safety.
