UPDATE: One Injured In Duncan Run Road Crash

We have a new update on the one vehicle crash that occurred on Duncan Run Road Saturday evening.
According to Sergeant Melanie Appleman of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 48 year old Cynthia Harris of Zanesville lost control of her 2003 GMC Envoy and went off the right side of the road. The car went over the embankment and Harris had to be extricated from her vehicle. Appleman told us Harris was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash and suffered non life threatening injuries. Harris has been cited with operating a vehicle while under the influence, failure to wear a seat belt and failure to control.

An accident in Philo sent one woman to the hospital Saturday afternoon.
The call for the one car accident came in at approximately 4:52PM when a car drove over an embankment at 6265 Duncan Run Road. The road was closed for just under an hour while crews worked to extricate the female driver from her 2003 GMC Envoy. Sergeant Melanie Appleman of the Ohio State Highway Patrol told us more.
“We had a witness that saw the crash.” Said Appleman, “From what we can tell it just looks like she went off the right side of the road and hit some trees.”
Appleman said the extent of her injuries is unknown but she was conscious and talking before being transported from the scene to Genesis Hospital. Newton Township EMS and Harrison Township Volunteer Fire department also responded to the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
