Glenna Mayo

Glenna Mayo

Glenna Jean Rhinebarger Mayo, 71 of Hopewell passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Zanesville on July 8, 1953, to the late Glenford and Jean Stoneburner Morrison.

Glenna enjoyed working at the Masonic Temple Building as an elevator operator and loved all of the friends she met there. She especially enjoyed the first Friday Art Walks. Glenna entertained everyone she met at the Temple, and she entertained her family with the stories, such as getting stuck in the elevator amongst other funny stories.

She was truly one of a kind in every way. She enjoyed spending time with her family whether it was snuggling on the couch watching television, drinking a cup of sugar and milk with a splash of coffee, or floating around in the pool. Glenna enjoyed being outside soaking up the sun, mushroom hunting, and picking berries. She was an avid lottery player which landed her on a very entertaining episode of Cash Explosion in 2016.

She is survived by her soulmate, John H. Mayo whom she married on October 2, 2015, after 20 years of procrastinating; two daughters: Rhonda (Brian) Warehime and Tamera (Chuck) Boyd; a brother Ted “Bill” (Libby) Morrison; a sister Judy Sheppard; a sister-in-law Judy Morrison; two grandchildren: Chad Wallace and Nichole Younkins; and two great-grandchildren: Gracelyn Wallace and Gwendolyn Younkins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Terry Morrison; two sisters: Nancy Parmer and Sara “Beebe” Bauer; and her beloved cats: Mojo and Butters.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Guernsey, Inc. for their wonderful and compassionate care the last four weeks of Glenna’s life. They are truly angels who walk among us.

Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Thursday March 6 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral Service will follow at 1pm in The Snouffer Chapel with Chaplain Kris Bright officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Roseville.
