Robert Szczesny

Robert G. “Bob” Szczesny, 93 of Granville, died 10:26 AM, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Tuscany Gardens in Pataskala. He was born Saturday, November 7, 1931, in Buffalo, NY, the son of Wojiech Szczesny and Anastasia (Dressler) Szczesny. He married Gail (Wem) Szczesny on Saturday, May 28, 1955, and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Bob served his country as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Bob’s was a good father to his family and found his greatest joy in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed playing cribbage and would always lend a hand to anyone who needed it.

Bob is survived by five daughters, Sue Pijacki, Jill Marie & Tim Salzler, Jana & Bob McCarthy, Jenifer & Paul Schildwachter and Sandra Szczesny; two sons, Robert A. & Cindy Szczesny and Jonathan D. & Ya’Fen Szczeny; thirty one grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gail Szczesny who passed away June 4, 2006; one son, Stephen Christopher; one grandson, Thomas Stephen; two sons-in-law, Paul Pijacki and Phil Peters and several brothers and sisters.

Friends may call 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 128 South Seventh Street, Zanesville, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Pastor Andrew Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 10, 2025, in Woodlawn Cemetery, Orchard Park, New York.
