Weeks Named ZAAP Gallery Artist of the Month
ZANESVILLE, OH – The ZAAP Gallery has named Allison Weeks as their Artist of the Month for March.
Weeks said her art journey only began a few years ago when she began attending painting classes. She said her son saw her potential and pushed her to keep creating beautiful landscape paintings and portraits.
Weeks said it’s been a whirlwind and a thrill learning all of the in’s and out’s of the art world and she can’t wait to show everyone what she’s been working on.
“The paintings I have in this exhibit are from photographs that some friends of mine have taken,” Weeks said. “JP Marshall and Rick Aichele and some photography that I’ve taken and have just been able to paint.”
In addition to her works, Weeks said the ZAAP gallery will also have some other members’ art on display during the First Friday Artwalk.
She said this is the first time she’s been recognized as the artist of the month and the support she’s received has been amazing to witness.
“This is my first go round with this and Debbie has been great, giving me advice,” Weeks explained. “I did a show at Galloping Horse last summer. It was really fun, but then I just showed, had an exhibit at a gallery at Buckeye Lake at the community center there, at the Harbor and that was a great experience. There’s a lot of things to learn from how to hang your portraits and how to style it, it’s just so much information over the last two years.”
If you’d like to check out more of Weeks’ work, you can head to her Facebook page or her website.
The ZAAP Gallery is located at 625 Main St. and will be open from 5 to 8PM for the First Friday Artwalk.
