Anita “Jo” Holp Bellew

Anita “Jo” Joan Holp Bellew, 94, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Born May 29, 1930, in New Lebanon, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Marguerite (Schell) Holp. Jo graduated from Dixie High School in 1948. She worked for The Ohio Plastics Company for many years and retired in 1992. She was also a long-standing member of the Community Bible Church in Frazeysburg.
Jo was known around Frazeysburg as the Avon lady and spent over 40 years serving her loyal customers. Every other week she would hand deliver their purchases, write up new orders, and certainly sit for a chat to hear the latest news about their families. She was also an avid reader and when she wasn’t working, she usually had her nose in a good mystery or romance novel.
She leaves behind four children, Patty Stokes of Frazeysburg, Mark Bellew of Zanesville, Matt (Naomi) Bellew of Newark, and Carrie (Rick) King of Frazeysburg; fifteen grandchildren, Amber (Trevor) Zeman, Natalie (Brad) Gray, Ashley (Devin) Liles, Bryan (Jessica) Bellew, Mark Austin Bellew, Rachel (Daniel) Beaubien, Nathan (Brandon) Stafford, Jessica (Josh) Perkins, Sam Bellew, Tabitha (Alex) Waggoner, Briane (Josh) Eick, Adriane (Brad) Shindle, Danielle (Rusty) Hindel, Evan (Jalissa) Harper, and Lauren (Kaiden Kerby) King; twenty-one great grandchildren, Sydney (Adam), Seth (Jenna), Olivia, Zoey, Bailey, Hudson, Arden, Remi, Viola, Ethan, Liam, Grant, Gwen, Grayson, Boston, Annalyn, Havana, Maleia, Mila, Hudson, and Luka; and one great great grandchild Eloise, several nieces and nephews and a special friend Jane Hindel. She is also survived by her sisters, Sheralyn Cox and Jenny Mayberry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son Daniel Bellew, one brother Rollin Holp, one son-in-law Jack Stokes, and a grandson William Bellew.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many nurses, aides, and caregivers who cared for Jo the past couple of years at Altercare in Zanesville.
Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street.
Funeral service will start at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
