Lois Talbot

Lois Leona Talbot, 100, lifelong resident of Crooksville passed away on Saturday March 22, 2025, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. She was born March 29, 1924, in Crooksville to the late Francis “Frank” and Marguerite Wolfe Talbot.
Lois was a 1942 graduate of Crooksville High School. She worked at the Crooksville China, Dura Corporation, and retired from Putnam Transfer after 29 ½ years as payroll clerk. Lois loved her cruises, gambling, and traveled to many countries including Ireland where she was thrilled to kiss the Blarney Stone. She was a member of Mary Lee’s Line Dancing Group. Lois always liked to help others by taking them to doctors, hospitals, nursing homes, and spending hours with her friends at home. She was a member of Iliff United Methodist Church in McLuney.
She is survived by nieces; Marsha (Berney) Harmon who was her caregiver, Carol (Jim) Slack, and Cheryl Talbot; niece by marriage Martha Talbot; great nephew; Shayne (Amy) Harris; great nieces: Jamie (Marty) Stoneburner, Jessica Harris, Tricia (Robert) Lytton, Julie (R.J.) Hubbard, Amy Talbot, Michelle Slack, and Natasha Slack; great-great nephews: Gage (Melanie) Harris, Slade (Payge) Stoneburner, Tavyn Hains, Rob Lytton, and Hayden Hubbard; great-great nieces: Emmah Stoneburner, Ellah Grace Stoneburner, Aleigh Thornton, Jenna Lytton, Allison Lytton, and Carsen Inman; great-great-great nephews: Memphis Harris, Gage Oliver Harris, and Paxton Stoneburner; great-great-great nieces: Kinsley Stoneburner and Cove Harris; step-great nephew: Chad (Jennifer) Harmon; step-great nieces: Denice Harmon and Stacie (Wayne) Scott; step-great-great nephews: Tyler Harmon and Austin Mount; step-great-great niece: Lexi (Jakob) Cramer; step-great-great-great nephew Brantley Cramer; a cousin Donald (Donna) Talbot; special friends: Jean Vincent, Darlene Sheppard, and Sonie Gildow.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: William Everett Talbot and Francis Albert Talbot; a sister Luella Marguerite Talbot; a sister-in-law Ruth Ann Talbot; nephew Richard Talbot; great-great niece Brittany Harmon; best friends: Hazel Murphy, Bonnie J. Stickdorn, and Eleanor McGrail.
No services will be held at this time. Burial will be in Crooksville Cemetery at a later date.
