John Carper Jr.

John Alexander Carper Jr., 75 of Zanesville Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. John was born on July 1, 1949 to Mildred (Cole) and John Alexander Carper Sr. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Shawn Marie (Chad) Wagner.

John leaves to cherish his memory, the mother of his children, Debra Carper; children, Jerome Mayle and Eugene (Nonie) Mayle; grandchildren, Davon Carper-Wagner, Jasmin Wagner, Josh Stevens, Jeremy Gibson and a host of great grandchildren; siblings, Mildred Holbert, Cheryl Bell both of Zanesville OH, Janet Carper of Columbus OH, Carol Fields and Karen (Mark) Blakeley both of Blacklick OH, Roger (Chris) Carper, Randy Carper both of Zanesville and Richard Carper of Blue Rock OH; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other friends and family.

John was a 1968 graduate of the old Roseville High School. He retired from Brockway Glass in Zanesville. John was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed watching one of the most winning teams in the NFL. He was also a Vietnam Veteran that served in the Navy. In his free time, he would enjoy fishing as well as sitting in Debra’s backyard enjoying the environment of outdoors she put together. John also enjoyed going to the Cherry Orchard. Most of all he enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

You may call on the family on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 1:40 pm with funeral services starting at 1:40 pm and concluding at 2:00 pm at Burrell Funeral Services. Cremation will follow the services. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving in the family.
