Zanesville Family Receives New Home from Habitat for Humanity
ZANESVILLE, OH – One local family is getting a fresh start and a brand-new set of keys!
Thanks to the Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio, homeownership is now a reality for another deserving family. After 836 hours of dedication and hard work, volunteers, community members, and the new homeowners gathered in Zanesville for a special house dedication ceremony. The new homeowner, Paige Gaiters, explained how this experience has impacted her and her children’s lives.
“The impacted has been tremendously good. It’s given us an insight of what’s there in the world, that we can own our own home, we can have somewhere to make memories at, and somewhere to be clean. The experience has just been amazing for us,” Gaiters said.
The Habitat for Humanity says projects like this are about more than just building houses, they’re about building hope and opportunity.
“Our mission is to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. A lot of people have a misconception that we just build houses and then give them away. That’s not the case. We partner with the families, we invest in them, and we invest in education. We prepare them to be successful homeowners in a permanent and sustainable way,” Melissa Best the director of community engagement for Habitat of Humanity SEO said.
Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio has upcoming builds in the works and is continuing to bring hope one home at a time.
