Y-Bridge Arts Fest Kicks Off
The 8th annual Y-Bridge Arts Festival kicked off Friday at Zane’s Landing Park.
More than 60 visual artists from across the community and beyond filled the park with their one-of-kind pieces. Co-director, Linda Regula said the fun isn’t just for the adults, the fest features an entire play area with face-painting and other activities for the kids.
“We have concessions and food, we have entertainment on two stages, we an awesome children’s area, they can do hands-on projects, there’s just so much stuff going on everywhere, they can just come out and enjoy.” Regula said.
New to the fest this year is an antiques roadshow, along with a refurbished art auction. Local artists and merchants donated recycled furniture for Saturday’s auction, benefiting The Artist Colony of Zanesville.
“We asked artists to buy an old piece of furniture and to give it new life, by painting it or collaging it, and then we’re going to turn around and we’re selling them at auction, and then part of the money will go to The Artist Colony, we’re the group that puts this on,” Regula said.
The festival runs until 10 p.m. Friday, and continues Saturday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Zane’s Landing Park.
