Julie’s ARTery Celebrates 25 Years in the Community
ZANESVILLE, OH – There are many reasons to celebrate this month’s ArtCoz Artist of the Month
In addition to being recognized as Artist of the Month, Julie’s ARTery is also celebrating 25 years here in the community.
Julie Goodall, the owner and instructor, said they are excited to be able to celebrate this milestone with the community and talked about how the studio got its start.
“I was actually asked by someone at my church if I would consider art classes for homeschool co-op and so I was like, okay,” Goodall explained. “All my kids were teeny and so we set up some spaces in our basement and taught from there for seven years. Moved to the Masonic for twelve and then finally in 2020, opened our space here on 7th St.”
Goodall said over the years she’s seen friendships and families form all from sharing a love of art. She said it’s amazing to see some of her former students have become artists themselves and are continuing to share their passions with others.
Goodall also detailed what will be going on at the studio for this celebratory First Friday Artwalk.
“We’re going to have food, some cake and different things, we’ll have about half a dozen artists here that are an important part of the studio,” Goodall said. “They either teach or are just so supportive with their artworks, so they will be on display and have their work for sale. We’ll have demonstrations of wheel throwing and painting upstairs in the two rooms and it’s just going to be a fun celebration.”
